Ping Pong Ball Experiment

This purpose of this blog post is to demonstrate the scientific method. This is part of the end of topic assessment.

The experiment we have been doing is how high is the ping pong ball bounce depends on the high the drop of the ball.

I think what will happen is the higher you drop the ball the higher it bounce.

What I did is to measure the ball height using a ruler, I used the retort-stand to keep the ruler standing then I pick 80 centimetre then I put the ball over 80 centimetre then dropped it and the result is I don't know.

This is the result of my experiment.
Discussion - What happened is that the higher you drop the ball the higher it bounce that happened because the higher you drop the ball the fastest it drops.

Conclusion - I tested the ball in 60 centimetre height and the height bounce is 46 centimetre.

Evaluation - We used ruler to measure the drop height and bounce height.

  1. Hi Ian, great start. Your aim, hypothesis were great. A method should explain everything you did for the experiment- next time it should have more information. Your discussion has a good scientific explanation.

To support my learning I ask you to comment as follows:
1. Something positive - something you like about what I have shared.
2. Thoughtful - A sentence to let us know you actually read/watched or listened to what I had to say
3. Something thoughtful - how have you connected with my learning? Give me some ideas for next time or ask me a question.
