My Art Reflection
Subject matter | Form | Composition | Content
What does my painting depict? My subject of painting is from Mob Psycho, an anime... | How did I create the different tones? I create different tones by putting more wash, or maybe colour on some areas, but I failed doing that cause I put too much wash making it more whiter... | How did you compose your subject matter? I created my subject just by trying copying the picture, turns out kinda not the same but it’ll do... | Is your subject matter symbolic or does it express an idea? If you look at him, rage is the expression he's showing, like the black face and the lightning coming out of his eyes...
How did you paint the highlights? By painting it with the right wash..? | Is the negative space important in your painting? Nope, cause I think it kinda doesn’t show the negative space that it's supposed to show…. |

TWTWB Paragraph
Describe at least one challenge faced by a character or individual in the written text..
In Tomorrow when the War Began, an important character is Ellie. One of the challenges she faced was blowing up the bridge. It is a challenge because they didn’t know about all the things which could have gone wrong, there are a lot of risks involved like being shot, being blown up.n being seen or captured by the enemy. This challenge helped me understand Ellie because her actions and planning showed she had matured over the story, she was brave because she had to run through gunfire. The plan with the truck shows she is not afraid to go out on a limb and hope for the best and will act to save her friends and country. As the reader I was amazed by her courage as it would be a very scary experience.

Know My Place
This is my work using the prezi website, using it was like learning a new skill to present something that is different from others. I also learned a few things about some places in NZ, the most interesting I found in my research is probably the history of Hornby High School.
Here's the link, click it to see the work iv'e done, it's not much but I learned few new things from it:

Character Paragraph Tomorrow When The War Began..
A key moment for Ellie, In Tomorrow When The War Began, is when she blows up the lawnmower. Explain - It is an important moment for her as a character because it was the first time she has ever killed someone which results in trauma. In chapter seven, Ellie and two of her friends are hiding from the invaders. At this moment she is scared that her and her friends are going to get caught. Ellie thinks quickly to develop a plan to protect her friends and escape from the soldiers by using the lawnmower as a bomb by putting a rag in the gas-tank and lighting it. This moment shows the reader that Ellie is brave, smart and capable of leadership. A quote that shows Ellie’s courage is on page 90 “for the first time I saw their faces; then I struck the match”. This quote shows that Ellie’s action saved their lives in a life and death situation. This is a moment that stays with Ellie for a long time.

Tomorrow When The War Began - How War Changed Ellie
In the TWTWB novel, Ellie showed her feeling about the war that's happening in a chapter. When Ellie got furious about Chris falling asleep in his sentry duty, it's when you watch over enemies, Ellie was so stressed that she yelled to Chris for almost risking all of their lives, she also almost killed Chris about it. Later on, she got tired of arguing, she went asleep and had a nightmare about how she killed everyone she loved, how she was careless with gas bottles causing an explosion which blew up the house she lived in, with his parents in it, setting fire to a haystack where her friends were sleeping and a few more. This shows us that Ellie is in stress or in pain. Maybe this happened to her because of the 3 soldiers she killed with a bomb lawnmower, or when Lee got shot by a bullet and Ellie was so worried that she doesn't know what to do. People in wars experience PTSD which makes them experience scary, shocking, and dangerous events making them feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation...

Industrial Revolution - Steam Engine ( Lawyer Paragraph )
This paragraph is about one of the inventions of the Industrial Revolution of how they evolved, the purpose of them, and the impact they gave us. According to the internet, the Industrial Revolution started in 1760 and ended in 1840, it’s the time when machines were made such as weaving machines, steam engines, spinning frames, and cotton gin etc. I will show you how one of the inventions of the Industrial Revolution made a big impact on us.
During the time of the Industrial Revolution, many inventions were made by hand or work by hand. Steam engines are one of the inventions made, it was made in the 1690s. The creation of steam engines helped us before but the steam engine now has evolved and made a big impact on our era. The steam engine nowadays helps us more than the old one. The old steam engine helped to power the first trains, ships, factories, and even cars.
While the steam engine nowadays changed steam trains to bullet trains, a train faster than a traditional train using magnetic process to move. It was made in Japan in 1964, without the old steam train the bullet train probably doesn’t exist in our time right now. Steam engines also evolved to steam turbines, a power generating plants and ships. They are particularly useful for nuclear power plants. Steam engines evolved into steam turbines and have a big impact on our era. Steam turbines generate electricity using rotary motion and about 85% of all electricity generation in the United States in the year 2014 was by use of steam turbines. As we know, steam turbines generate large amounts of electricity helping us do our work easily, making our lives simple, and it gives us benefits which is a good thing for us to go continue on living. There are a lot more inventions from the time of the Industrial Revolution and were evolved in this time for the better.

Antarctica - 'Dogs of the Vaness'
We have been studying Antarctica. We listened to a story about Nanook, a husky who was sent to Antarctica on an expedition in 1901. We then wrote the next chapter of the story from Nanook’s ‘Point of View’.
Nanook has been told that in two days, he and his team will leave Lyttelton on the boat ‘Discovery’ to travel to antarctica.
If I were Nanook I would feel happy and a bit sad at the same time. The sad part is that I have to leave the home I grew up in, and the happy part is that I get to experience new things in somewhere new.
I would be proud of myself that I get to go to Antarctica, all of my hard work will finally be paid off. And I would also be so happy because I get to be with my seven friends, Hector, Hercules, Granny, Nell, and Fluff...

Which people in the group are starting to stand out as leaders? Why? I think Ellie, because when they realise that Australia may have been invaded, Ellie explained that it might be true…

Corrie and Ellie reminisce about how innocent they were in high school and even a few days ago. Why were they still innocent then? Why are they no longer innocent? The days when they were still innocent were the normal days, suddenly when the war began, they weren't innocent anymore because of what's happening to them.
By blowing up Corrie’s house, what does the invading force demonstrate to the teenagers? They show no mercy...
