Visitor from another planet
Gort a visitor from the planet Haret uses different words when naming things. No one could understand him until he pointed to different objects.
Naming things
Reet = Tree Kobo = Book Tribba = Rabbit Pleap = Apple Rast = Star Poson = Spoon
Blate = Table Tofo = Foot
The names we call different things are called nouns.
Spaced-out sentences
Gorf was a super-intellegent being and quickly learnt to speak our language. BUT when he wrote down some facts about his planet, we found them difficult to read. (He didn't use any spaces!)
Rewrite the sentences Gorf said, leaving spaces between the words.
1. TheskyonplanetHaretispink. = The sky on planet Haret is pink.
2, TheHaretiansliveunderground. = The Haretians live underground.
3. Childrenonlygotoschoolonceaweek. = Children only go to school once a week.
4. ThecarsonHarethavesquarewheels. = The cars on Haret have square wheels.
A sentence is a group of words telling something that makes sense. Write a sentence telling something about the planet you live on. Remember a sentence starts with a capital letters and ends with a full stop.
ThechildrenheregotoschooleveryMondaytoFriday. = The children here go to school every Monday to Friday.
Rhyme time
If you look closely. you will see that the words Gorf spoke can be rearranged to make the words we use. e.g blate - table gort - frog Haret - Earth
These are called anagrams - swapping the letters of a word around to make a new word.
Can you work out some more of Gorf's words? You will find that each set of words rhyme.
Keow = woke Komes = smoke Olack = clock Kaos = soak Kepo = poke Gans = sang
Gran = rang Gnab = bang Nagg = gang Gnaf = fang Yehon = honey Fyunn = funny
Yunns = sunny yomen = money nurny = runny
Moving on: Introducing

Give me a name...
Write down six names that you might call the elephant and underline the one you like the best. Then you can colour in the elephant ( Impossible ).
1.) Kepo
2.) Fyunn
3.) Keow
4.) Yomen
5.) Nurny
